They go thru my garbage, and dig in my potted flowers, they just have bulbs in them and they dug them up.
How can I get rid of squirrels off my porch, they are digging up my potted flowers?
ok this is gonna sound crazy, but I SWEAR this works to keep all kinds of critters away, and it did keep our squirrels away too. Mix 4 Tbsp of hot sauce w/ 1qt. white vinegar and spray it around the edges of wherever you want them out of(in your case the porch). also, this is completely irrelevant, sorry, but if you ever have a problem with flying bugs, hang basil in the doorway(sorry, I just had to include this one too, it was in the same book). good luck!(=
Reply:Try Pepper corns, the minute they sniff it they scarper. Hope this helps.
Reply:They have different squirrel repellants at your local gardening shop.. for me its Home Depot or Lowes Hardware. I wont recommend any brands, but that is a common problem, and they have introduced various powders and granules that you can sprinkle down to keep them away. They even have a concentrated fox urine you can dribble down and they will avoid your balcony like the plague.
Of course, there is also this pie recipe that I have............ %26lt;wink%26gt;
Reply:LOL you'd get rich if you found a way! Keep a lid on your trash can and plant flowers that don't have bulbs!!!
Reply:A small dachshund as they are very cute and breed to go after gophers or badgers so squirrel will not come close. Plus the breed as a whole is not known for barking like other small dogs. Plus you can name him Fritz since he is German, and don't forget they drink Hefenweizen not water.
Reply:Contact your city"s animal control, they will loan you traps to catch them, then you can take them to a park and release them there.
Reply:Cayenne pepper in the soil and mix some in water to spray the foliage....peppermint spray is supposed to work too...You can cover the tops of the containers with chicken wire...lets the plants grow, but makes it difficult for the squirrels to get thru to the bulbs...If your bulbs have already sprouted, you could place some bricks around the growth so they can't get to the bulbs...if all else fails, try planting bulbs that the little creatures don't like such as daffodils...
Reply:tie rags or lay rags with amonia all around
Reply:Get them a feeder. They'll leave you alone if you give them what they want. :)
Reply:Feed them, and they will come...
But not to your flowers. They seem hungry, maybe try putting a squirrel feeder out there so they don't eat anything else.
Reply:The suggestion to call animal control is a very good one. They will eventually do damage to your physical property too.
Reply:a wooden rocking chair to sit in, a 12 gauge and a bottle of beer...
and if the occasion calls for it: A second person in a wooden rocking chair. No 12 gauge needed, that person is only there for company
Reply:I don't think you can get rid of them, but you can squirrel-proof your garbage and your pots.
Keep the garbage in a sealed can that they can't get into.
Secure mesh or something (like chicken wire) over the top of the pots so they can't get into the dirt.
Reply:Try putting moth balls in your potted plants. They won't like the smell and will hopefully head for the hills. The same could be done in the bottom of your trash can. Make sure you keep the lid closed so they can't get into the trash.
Reply:sprinkle some Cayenne pepper in the flower pots they hate the taste sprinkle after u water plant each time
