How to become a picture book illustrator/ designer etc?

I want to become a picture book illustrator/painter/designer for flower pots etc as a second/1st job if I don't like Real Estate.. what do I have to do if I don't want more than 3 years of college?

I would suggest thinking long and hard about what it is you want to devote your life to...art or real estate. The two are so opposite that if you try to do both you will end up half-assing one or the other. If your choice is art, invest the time in a proper education. This is a tough industry to break into, you will need good credentials to be taken seriously.
Reply:Picture book illustrators don't make much money. Designers are a whole different field.



Best get used to college, you'll have a learning curve for ANY field you want to enter--there's no way around that. Sorry.
