I changed the water in my fish pond and 2 of my fish have died. what should i do from the rest from dieing.?

The reason I changed the water was I was hanging a flower pot filled with a flower and all the dirt gottin in the water, after I changed the water 2 of my fish have died. I have a filter I have had my fish pond for 3 years and my fish has been fine until now. What should i do from the rest from going in shock?

ummm...it's probably the dirt that go in the water because you said they were fine for 3 years, until the dirty got in the water. I think the best thing you can do for your fish is put them indoor in an aquarium :-/, but you never said what fish they were.
Reply:Check the water temp first.
Reply:don't put or change any more water now.... the shock of the water probably hasn't help either. sudden changes in water temperature and chlorine from the tap has more than likely affected them. did you change the whole lot in one go or bit by bit? id leave them to try to settle now and treat them with an anti fungus dose now to help with the stress
