Where have all the flower children/hippies gone?

We have really betrayed our ideals. Instead of improving the world, we have made a holy mess. We have changed flowers for guns, pot for coke/horse, good rock music for rap sh*t, WOW????for OUCH!!!!!!! What a cop-out! Our generation has changed the world, but not for the better!

we havent all gone some still try to spread the light and yes lots of time i think im talking to myself-everyday i try to improve the world a little if nothing else than making someone smile-keep the peace lots of love old hippie
Reply:Down with the Hippies! Watching all the movies about Hippies, it's clear that the Hippy ideal of flower power was all hypocritical.



Where are they? They are in office (Hilary Clinton) ... or standing in line at the pharmacy trying to get their prescription of pain killers/sex enhancers refilled; since pot can no longer be consumed in old age, seems these prescription drugs satisfy.



I don't really hate the Hippies ... I just see that generation really scared of war and communists ... which ironically, is what they've become. I guess you become what you fear so many times so it's really not their fault only societies fears overwhelming a generation into paralization and dysfunction.



OK, the hippy children were super-spoiled, and now their grandchildren are super-duper-uper-spoiled. However, a few from these generations are waking up, and hopefully, society can get into peace with-out the drugs, love (sex), and finding responsiblities!!!



It would be a lot easier if the 'Hippies' stopped calling themselves 'Hippy' and started to lead by example...since they are now the people running the government, this would be a huge step!!!



* Act responsible for the War's ... find soltions to get out instead of pointing the finger!!!

* Stop perscribing pills for everything. Don't communist us with wasteful medicare and social security. Face God when he calls!!!

* Banish this 'Free Love' mentality ... this has morphed into 'Free Internet Porn'. Free love has got to stop sometime, or self destruction is immenant. Teach your children and grandchildren that babies are worthy, and should not be killed ... teach that parenthood is fulfiling and not something to be medicated!

Reply:They grew up, had kids of their own, and now have proved to be the generation with the worst / least parenting skills in all of human history. Retribution is going to be difficult; hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.
Reply:I don't know, I grew up in the 60's and now my 14 year old daughter is marching for gay rights (she is straight) just because she is sick of the hate she sees around her. She volunteers for PETA (Which I always thought stood for People Eating Tasty Animals) and I am so proud of her for standing up for what she believes in.
