Does anyone know more information about Mourning Doves?

A Dove laid eggs in my flower pot the once that are very long and are attached to the window and i live in a up stairs apartment and my kids are very interested and the window is right in are living room and im afraid that they are going to scare the bird away and shes not going to take care of her eggs or that we can't make to much noise or she will feel threatened and leave. And is it okay to still put bird seed in the flower pot or will this bring other birds to the pot and well not be good for the mother or eggs.. Thanks.
