Any Idea how to get rid of squirrels that are digging in my flower pots??

there is this red spice mixture that is made specifically for repelling squirrels that they sell at wal-mart in the bird feed section that works.It is red like paprika and I used to put it on my bird feeder to repell them. Since they eat with their hands, they rub their eyes with the same hands they have exposed to the red powder and thus it gets in their eyes and sends them running. It is totally harmless to birds as well.
Reply:I don't suggest the first idea of shooting them. I would suggest changing the type of flower pots you have in your yards. I can't say i have faced that problem, so I'm not exactly sure how to help you. What if you put some decorative in your pots. They would eliminate squirrels and look great. Maybe a small sign with a quote on it, some stones, or anything else.
Reply:Try putting some screen over the dirt they are digging in, or putting flat stones on the dirt that won't easily be dislodged.



Or shoot them, like the first poster suggested.
Reply:Well, have you seen them with nuts in the flower pots or anything? They might be storing them there, or maybe they buried them there some other time and are now retrieving them.
