I found these dog statues they almost look like flower holders i have 2 of them same hieght and same size?

i found these 2 dog statues they seem to be porcelin they have no markings that i could find and they seem to be some kind of pot holder for flower pots. one is got a chip on it . they both seem to be cracked all over almost like they are suppose to be that way . they have no markings on them at all that i could see if anyone has any suggestions on when they were made and what they are used for please let me know ohh and by the way they are an off white in color and seem to be like a spanial dog of some sort very cute but no painting or marks of any other color. please help

The cracking you mention is called crazing and can be due to age, storage conditions, heat etc.
