I have a pot of flowering tulips, leaves are folding/curling & tips are turning brown.....what's wrong?

I was recently given a pot of flowering tulips (about a week ago). The flowers have wilted and I've snipped the stems off low near the leaves...soil has been kept moderately moist and pot is in high - but not direct - light area away from drafts. Recently the leaves have begun to fold/curl inward and the tips are brown but not crisp......I'm wondering if it's a watering issue or perhaps location (do they need to be outside?)......any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

It would appear that this is your first and only experience with an Annual Bulb plant. Your Tulip will be fine if you leave it alone.

Allow it to die on its own. By hand you can remove the hard dry leaves. Leave the brown but flexible leaves alone! Get a BoneMeal powder from the local hardware store and lightly water that into the soil. After that leave it alone.

Let the soil and the bulbs dry out. In the fall place them in your garden with a mixture of moss, BoneMeal, and low level fertilizer. Wait until the first frost to try this. Make one pit and put all the bulbs into it - do not seperate. Water the pit deeply when planted then leave it alone. Hope this helps.
Reply:THERE ISNT ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM, TULIPS ONLY BLOOM A SHORT TIME, YOU NEED TO JUST CUT THEM BACK NOW AND PUT IN A COOL PLACE TILL NEXT SPRING WHEN THEY WILL BLOOM AGAIN
Reply:Too much water. The soil should be dry before you water it again.
Reply:This is normal. They will now die back. You should take them outside and plant them. Do not cut off the yellow dying leaves. The bulb needs this to make food for the bulb to flower next year.Do not cut back until all brown and crisp. They will be back next year. I have never waited for fall to plant ones bought in a pot. I put them right out soon as they start to die back and have always had luck with them.
Reply:The problem is that those plants are dying.
Reply:I agree with Adam, let the soil dry out. Put them in a sunny spot . They are going to dye off eventually ,but save the bulb an you can plant it next spring.
