Plants that grow large in pots?

Does anyone know of any plants that will flourish and grow large in pots? I want something that is drought resistant and that has flowers for a cottage garden. They will be placed near large gum trees so will be full sun to part shade, must grow to a large size approx 1.5 metres or higher

Roses , especially standard roses. They like the sun ( and don't ind part shade) and also are drought resistant. any colours to chose from and some are fragrant. Good luck.
Reply:Ye Marijuana is pretty ,but if outside, will give you a feildtrip to the jailhouse. A cornstalk plant would be better,or a ficus benjamina. Or a Pacapodium Cactus. Byee
Reply:olive tree if in your area you have snow, put the pot inside.
Reply:Rubber plant(Ficus elastica). There's a variegated type which looks good and isn't so vigorous.

Swiss Cheese plant(Monstera Delicisioa).

Castor oil plant(Fatsia Japonica).

Weeping Fig(Ficus Benjamina).

Umbrella Plant.(Schefflera actinophylla).

Yucca. All will stand outdoors but won't tolerate frost,(Are you in Oz?).
