A robin laid a nest in a flower pot on my front porch railing. It laid 4 eggs and 3 hatched today. I was just wondering what happens to the egg shell after they hatch, because I'm pretty sure they aren't in the nest. What happens to it?

When the eggs hatch, the female usually eats the eggshells to help with her egg production or disposes of them far away from the nestbox.
