Which small flower could I put in . . .?

I have a set of 3" decorative ceramic pots that I would like to display in my garden window. Up until now I have been using them for starters but I would really like to display them. What would be a good small flowering plant I could put in them that would not necessarily need to be transplanted soon. I would like something that could live happily in a 3" pot for a long time.

I would prefer a flowering plant but if you think of something that is pretty or interesting that does not slower, I am open to suggestions

Reply:What about sweet william. I have had it in one pot for years. It comes back every year on its own and you never have to do much to make it look great.
Reply:Just about any type of annual would work good in a pot. You should go to your locale home and garden store and ask them they wold be able yo help chosse with ones are the best for your situation. Depending on were the pots would be located is a big factor. Some plants need full sunlight and others dont. for example You dont want to display a plant in a window that requires a lot of sun. But you shouldent have any problems if you ask a locale expert.
Reply:I had the same sort of set - up ... A small . three pot set I received as a gift.. I put " Hen's and Chicks" in them. they come in a variety of colors, and are quite happy in their new home. They will eventually

" bloom " ( tiny flowers ) You should just snip them off ....

I have two green ones on either side, with a nice purple one in the middle ....

Reply:violas or pansies are nice, lots of colors to choose from, and they dont get very large. but they will need to be replanted next year.



how about a begonia?
Reply:You say garden window, does that mean its indoors?



If so, African violets are the easiest ones to grow. have nice flowers and dont require too much watering.



If outdoors, pansies petunias or impatients will work well
