How does the plant obtain the water that is lost in transpiration?

How does the plant obtain the water that is lost in transpiration?

What is the reason for enclosing the flower pot and its soil in a plastic bag?

Why would a plant, like the one you used, be poorly adapted to life in an area where there are few rains?

How does the plant obtain the water that is lost in transpiration?
Ahh.. even though plants lose water through transpiration, transpiration itself is necessary in obtaining more water! Because water is essentially "pulled" upwards because of the leaving water molecules (during transpiration) by cohesive forces.
Reply:osmosis through roots.

so that it prevents water loss in soil...so u dont have to water plant as often.

because it is a plant that needs lots of water and doesnt have very large storage space like a cactus to store as much water that it gets...which is why it needs rain so that it can take it up from the soil more often.

hope that helps =)
Reply:The water is obtained from the ground by the roots.

So the soil won't dry out.

I have no idea what type of plant you use so I cannot answer that question.
