since they are so good for vegies and flowers in the garden

Is humus suitable to be put in indoor pots for plants during the winter months?
I don't know that I would recommend it as a 'top dressing' for your houseplants. You could mix it in to your potting mix, the next time you transplant your plants. Humus is decomposing plant material, just like sphagnum (canadian) peat moss.



I would just warn you that if you are making your own humus, it will not be sterilized when you add it to your indoor garden. You might be introducing insects and diseases to that environment. I would recommend a store-bought, sterilized humus however.
